Welcome to my website.  I am an artist. I make art: be it metal, fabric, wood, bone, stone or a combination of all or some of them.

I have been an artist most of my life. When I first learned metal, my jewelry insturctor asked me how long I had been making jewelry. We must have been in the 4th or 5th day of class, and I said, " 4 or 5 days." Soooooo, it has been a passion of mine since 1985. Since that time, I've studied many places with many insturctors, taken lots of classes and have taught since the early 1990's. What can I say, I just loved it from the start.

Here is a short list of some of those places: J C Campbell Folk School ( a truly wonderful place in the mountains of NC), Penland School of Crafts in Spruce Pine, NC, Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts in TN, Makers in CA, Meredith College & NCSU in Ral. NC, Duke University in Durham NC, and in County Wicklow, Ireland.  I attended many classes presented by various metalsmiths for a very long time. I am Done with metal classes.

More boring information: Past President of NC Society of Goldsmiths, started the Orange County Open Studio Tour, Chapel Hill NC, created the Arts Market held at the Carrboro Town Commons and many more labor intensive boards, groups and meetings that I can ever remember. Done with all of that also.

I attended Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio, where I was the first women president of the Student Council. BSBA in 3 years, 3 month, while being the mother of 3 small children, living in suburbia and the wife a very nice man. I also attended Duke University, Continuing Ed, to become Certified to teach English as a Second Language. I am also a USAF veteran and was the astrologer for the Indy Holiday Bash, Durham NC, for many years.  The last class that I attended was at the Omega Institute, Rhinebeck NY, taught by Linda Mackenzie, Expand Your Psychic Ability, 2017. Mixed bag, you say? Yeppers, it is my life.

My folk art name is Chatham Granny, working mostly in wood, fabric, found objects and general stuff. I love it.

Here is the deal about Monnda Lee (as my family & close friends call me), I just want to make art, teach my students and travel. Oh, and play in my garden.  And I was told by my eldest grand, Maeve Maureen, that I should say that I have 3 grands, Maeve, Wyatt & Molly.

There, I am done with that mess. At my age, I just get to play now. Oh, and I just built a new house/studio called the Crone's Nest. Love it.

I teach classes.
